The Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD is looking forward to welcoming the members of the VDMA departments Micro Technologies and Productronic at Leibniz Universität Hannover on 28 and 29 September 2022. PhoenixD board member Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ludger Overmeyer will then provide an insight into PhoenixD's current optics research. With about 3,500 members, the VDMA is the largest network organization for the mechanical engineering industry in Germany and Europe. The association represents this unique and diverse industry's common economic, technical and scientific interests.

The conference will start on Wednesday, 28 September at 3 pm with a guided tour of HITec - Hannover Institute of Technology with a visit to the Einstein Elevator (following the Productronic board meeting). We cordially invite you to a networking dinner in Grauwinkel's castle kitchen in the evening.

On the event's second day, various presentations will provide information on how mechanical engineering could continue in a time marked by global crises. From 9:30 to 10:00 am, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ludger Overmeyer, Director of the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD, will provide insights into current optics research in his lecture "Optics, rethought". Other speakers include Dr. Klaus Fiedler (LPKF Laser & Electronics), Dr. Detlef Nagel (Infineon Technologies Dresden GmbH & Co. KG) and Dr. Marco Wagner (Commerzbank AG).

On all topics, you will have time for discussions with the speakers and members of the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD and networking.
