The online conference will take place on Thursday, 17 November 2022 from 9 to 11 am.

The seven research institutions of the German Quantum Alliance, which includes the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD, invite doctoral students and postdocs to their annual networking event. The event will take place online from 9:00 to 11:00 on 17 November 2022. Participants can network with young scientists from all over Germany and gain insights into the job market for PhD students and postdocs in quantum and photonics research in Germany.

Are you thinking about the next step in your career after completing your doctorate or after your first postdoc position? Then hear how graduates from Quantum Alliance member institutions have made the leap from university to a government lab or industry.

In 10-minute talks, alumni will give an overview of the dos and don'ts during the application process. A general panel discussion and networking sessions in breakout rooms will follow the presentations of each career path.

Speakers include

  • Barbara Englert, Infineon Technologies AG in Neubiberg,
  • Antonio Negretti, Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH in Oberkochen,
  • David Dung, Midel Photonics in Bonn,
  • Laura Folkers, STOE & Cie GmbH in Darmstadt, and
  • Erik Benkler, Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig.
