At the virtual PhoenixD colloquium on Monday, 11 January 2021, from 10 till 12 o'clock, the Cluster of Excellence welcomes two guest speakers: Prof. Dr. Thomas Niendorf and Prof. Dr. Horst Weller. The scientists will talk about the current challenges of additive manufacturing (3D printing) in materials science as well as the properties and possible applications of nanocrystals in the materials and life sciences.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Niendorf from the Institute of Materials Science at the University of Kassel will give an insight into research on novel alloys in additive manufacturing.

Afterwards, Prof. Dr. Horst Weller from the Institute of Physical Chemistry at the University of Hamburg will look at the world of nanocrystals. He will use numerous examples to show the multiple applications of these high-performance materials.

The language of the lectures is English. You can find a detailed event announcement here.
