Abstract

Precise microstructures are becoming increasingly important in areas such as optics and microfluidics. Therefore, manufacturing productivity has to be improved. Active magnetic guides allow for high cutting speeds and the ability of dynamic fine positioning. As part of the Cluster of Excellence “PhoenixD” and the research group Ultra-Precision High Performance Cutting“, the IFW investigates how magnetic guides can be enabled for productive manufacturing of microstructures by means of planing.
