PhoenixD is seeking a Coordinator (m/f/d) for New Degree Programs and Diversity and Internationalization (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %)

The Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD (Photonics, Optics, and Engineering - Innovation Across Disciplines) at Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) invites applications for the position of a Coordinator (m/f/d) for New Degree Programs and Diversity and Internationalization (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %) to be filled as soon as possible. The position is assigned to introducing two new degree programs with a scope of 50 % and a fixed-term contract until December 31, 2023. A further 50 % of the position is allocated to enhancing the diversity and the internationalization of the cluster with a fixed-term contract until December 31, 2025.

The tasks

Study program coordination:

  • Creation of a concept for a new master's program "Quantum Engineering"; Development of a concept for the cooperation TU Braunschweig/LUH; Definition of required knowledge; Development of the study program documents and coordination with the leading faculty
  • The coordinator will prepare and further develop a vision for a new bachelor's degree program "Optical Technologies"; Preparation of the program documents and coordination with the lead faculty

Diversity of opportunities and internationalization:

  • The successful candidate will implement and further develop PhoenixD's internationalization strategy, including identifying "high potentials", research of international information platforms for students/promoters, and input tailored to target groups, promotion and maintenance of new cooperation with international universities
  • Additional tasks are the implementation and further development of PhoenixD's diversity strategy; Conception and implementation of diversity training and events; Representation of the diversity area at events (e.g. trade fairs, workshops, etc.); Coordination of the Diversity workgroup
  • Coordination of tasks and topics between PhoenixD, the Quantum Valley Lower Saxony (QVLS), and Leibniz University Hannover institutions

Recruitment Requirements

  • Completed scientific university studies in natural or engineering sciences, preferably physics or mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge in the field of optics, quantum optics as well as atomic and molecular physics is an advantage for the conceptual design of the study programs, but not mandatory
  • Experience in interdisciplinary teams and coordination of international students
  • Ability to work in a team and empathy
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Business fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
  • Experience with administrative procedures of federal authorities (e.g. university) is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel

Part-time employment can be arranged on request, as long as the offered workplace is covered in full extend.
