The Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry and the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at LUH celebrate the installation of their new X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS). This measuring device allows scientists to conduct detailed chemical surface analyses on various materials, such as inorganic solids, polymers, and soft matter. The lead applicant for the new device was Prof. Dr. Nadja-C. Bigall, member of the board of the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD.

The event will take place on Thursday, 13 October 2022, from 1 to 5 pm. The welcome and the lectures will start at 1 pm in the Kali-Chemie Lecture Hall (Room 202, Callinstr. 9, 30167 Hannover). The keynote lecture, "Understanding Interface Reactions in Advanced Batteries through Interface Analysis", will be given by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Janek from Justus Liebig University Giessen. He will report on his research with the XPS device.

From 3 pm, the guests can have a look at the device in the research building of the Laboratory for Nano and Quantum Engineering (Schneiderberg 39, 30167 Hannover). A poster session by the scientists will also provide insight into current research at LUH.
